GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 

Support the lending and credit administration functions by developing a knowledge of the various systems, programs, processes, policies and procedures used in the bank’s lending operations and being a resource for leveraging all of the above to promote the efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness of the lending operations staff. Plays a facilitator role to help assure that information needed by the lending area for credit decisions, customer relationship and portfolio management, regulatory compliance, and financial management is made available in a timely and organized manner.

 

Eligibility factors:

  • Understands (learns, if necessary) the fundamentals of lending to a degree that allows the Analyst to assure that the bank’s lending processes, systems, and programs effectively support lending and loan administration efforts.
  • Understands (learns, if necessary) the various programs and systems currently used in the lending area, and evaluates them for optimal use, modification, updates and replacement (including but not limited by Byte, Laser Pro, Xperience, Synergy, and CreditQuest); support programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat, CMCC & Mercury Network.
  • Prepares and compiles various monthly board reports, loan committee agendas/minutes and PLR packets.
  • May be assigned to act as administrator for any of the Loan Technology (LT) items. Maintain vendor’s contact information, help access information, subscribe to notification services provided by vendor, maintain copies and understand the vendor contracts, review related invoicing prior to payment, understand and assist in structuring the administrative hierarchy for the bank’s users of the LT services and assure appropriate access for staff to the services. May also seek the support of user groups, participate in vendor training, and attend vendors’ user meetings to keep up with most recent features and uses of LT services.  Assists with development of disaster/contingency plans relative to LT.
  • Keeps informed of the development of new releases for LT in the use and acts as a resource to staff regarding new releases as they become available. May participate in the implementation of new releases as necessary.
  • Will typically become “expert” in those LT applications for which the Analyst acts in the administrator capacity. Analyst will develop an in depth knowledge of the functionality of the LT services that will allow them to maximize the end users interaction with the services. Can effectively manage LT update, acquisition, and implementation projects of reasonable scope, and play a key participative role in larger projects of this nature, as well as daily routine projects/tasks.
  • Performs other administrative and lending operational duties as assigned.
  • Interacts with the bank’s IT staff as necessary to assure coordination regarding acquisition of and access to the necessary hardware, software and network resources.

Skills/education/experience required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree (AA) from a two year college or university; or three or more years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Work related experience should consist of a background in loan, operations, and sales skills. Educational experience through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
  • Intermediate math skills; calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs. General understanding of data structure and/or software analyst/development background.
